An easy, tasty, no-dishes method to grill your corn, whether at camp or a backyard BBQ!
Ingredients
  • Ears of corn (as many as you want)
  • Stick of unsalted butter (will easily do up to 8 ears of corn)--about 1 Tbsp per corn
  • Seasoned salt, to taste (I usually use a Creole seasoning)
  • Heavy duty aluminum foil
Instructions
  1. If possible, soak corn in a bucket or sink of water (salted or unsalted) for between 30 minutes and an hour
  2. Peel back husks and remove silks
  3. Open the end of the stick of butter and rub butter on the kernels, until you can see butter on the ear all the way around
  4. Sprinkle seasoned salt (and pepper or other seasoning, if desired) on buttered ears, covering evenly, to taste
  5. Re-wrap corn in silkless husks
  6. Wrap corn in heavy duty aluminum foil, sealing the ends.
  7. Place corn on grill, greasy grate, or around the perimeter of your campfire, preferably at a "medium" heat
  8. Rotate corn every five minutes or so
  9. Should be done at 20 minutes, but give it the sniff test regularly to make sure it isn't smelling burnt.
  10. Peel and eat!
Notes
Soaking the corn will help prevent it from scorching. This is mostly important if your corn is relatively dry.
