Total time:
- Ears of corn (as many as you want)
- Stick of unsalted butter (will easily do up to 8 ears of corn)--about 1 Tbsp per corn
- Seasoned salt, to taste (I usually use a Creole seasoning)
- Heavy duty aluminum foil
- If possible, soak corn in a bucket or sink of water (salted or unsalted) for between 30 minutes and an hour
- Peel back husks and remove silks
- Open the end of the stick of butter and rub butter on the kernels, until you can see butter on the ear all the way around
- Sprinkle seasoned salt (and pepper or other seasoning, if desired) on buttered ears, covering evenly, to taste
- Re-wrap corn in silkless husks
- Wrap corn in heavy duty aluminum foil, sealing the ends.
- Place corn on grill, greasy grate, or around the perimeter of your campfire, preferably at a "medium" heat
- Rotate corn every five minutes or so
- Should be done at 20 minutes, but give it the sniff test regularly to make sure it isn't smelling burnt.
- Peel and eat!
Soaking the corn will help prevent it from scorching. This is mostly important if your corn is relatively dry.
